About the event
We invite you to an intimate Art + Wine tasting at Hugo Modern & Contemporary. Set within the exhibition Held, in line the tasting explores parallels between the slow unfolding of flavour and the layered emotional landscapes present in the works on view.
Swanepoel Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery located at the historical Oude Compagnies Post farm in the Tulbagh Valley, Western Cape, South Africa. Headed by winemaker and viticulturist Dirk Swanepoel, the estate produces handcrafted, small-batch wines including Shiraz, Mourvèdre, White Pinotage, and a unique 100% Assyrtiko.
Guests will be offered a curated selection of Swanepoel wines. Like the art itself, the tasting encourages attentiveness, pause, and presence — allowing subtle notes, textures, and associations to reveal themselves over time.
The curators Jeanne Hugo and Michelle Solomon will lead a walkabout of the exhibition, with some of the artists in attendance to share their experience with Diane Victor.
